In the Osbourn High School library, Bull Run Rotary members and students gather around for the Interact Club induction ceremony. Family members accompanied their child in this honorable ceremony at the Manassas City Public School.

Dan Radkte, Interact Club Sponsor, welcomed everyone and thanked the new members for their initiative to join the club. He expressed the importance of leadership in the community. Dan Radkte also shared a video of another high school who has an Interact Club in their school. The video showed how the club impacted its members, and the experiences the members gained. After the video, Dan Radkte welcomed Steve Chapman, President of the Bull Run Rotary Club.

Chapman said, “Service above self is Rotary’s motto. The Interact Club is important because it helps students lead and provide service in the community.”

Chapman was happy to introduce Laura Mitchell, president of Interact Club. Mitchell introduced the rest of the club officers. Sandra Nolasco, Vice President; Emily Renner, Secretary; Jason Hurley, Treasurer; Eileen Ortiz, Director; Andrew McIntosh, Director; and Joshua Velez, Director.

Renner called each member up to receive their pin by Mitchell and their certification by  Nolasco. Mitchell announced the achievements of the club and Radkte took the microphone one more time. He awarded Dr. Catherine Magouyrk with a certification on behalf of the Bull Run Rotary for being a great Superintendent of Manassas City Public Schools. Mitchell adjourned the meeting by ringing the bell.
