Weems Wildcats! Weems Elementary School held their celebratory graduation on the sunny afternoon of June 16th for their fourth graders that will be moving on to fifth grade in Mayfield Intermediate. Families and friends crowded the auditorium to snap a picture of their beloved graduate, dressed head to toe in the school’s colors-red, black and white.
As the audience quieted down, the fourth graders made their way to their seats and afterwards, they sang a song of friendship to the tune of guitars and drums. Following that, each teacher announced her students’ names as they pridefully walked up to receive their diploma and crossed the bridge that symbolized the transition from Wildcats to Bobcats. Principal Rupert reassured the graduates that they would have each other’s backs in Mayfield and return to Weems for their senior walk once they prepare to leave Osbourn.
After the ceremony, families met up with their graduates for photos and enjoyed cake, fruit punch and other refreshments. This is an important milestone in the graduates young lives. Congratulations Weems graduates!
