On Saturday October 15th, the Osbourn Interact Club and other volunteers from around Northern Virginia went to the 2016 Occoquan River Fall Clean Up at the Bull Run Marina. It was sunny and the weather was perfect for outdoor fun. FOTO, or Friends of the Occoquan, provided volunteers with breakfast before everyone went out to pick up the tons of bottles, fishing line, and other trash that collects along the river. Groups dispersed along each end of the river and collected bottle caps, glass, and even shoes that were scattered on the rivers edge. Six large bags of trash were collected altogether. Large pieces of trash such as tires and wooden planks were also found by volunteers. The 2016 Occoquan River Fall Clean Up was a success!
